Professional laptops or private laptops for professional use ?

Gartner, which has collected data on the use of personal laptops in profesional environment since 2006, claims he is skeptical. Indeed, if the company decides to deploy virtual machines on those personallaptops - meaning these virtual machines will define a specific professional area on the laptops - and to deploy applications used in the company with sufficient security, the approach will cost him as much as to deploy its own fleet of laptops. The savings related to maintenance costs will in fact be compensated by the compensation and expenses to be reimbursed to employees.

However, if the company decides not to deploy virtual machine policy or a minimum policy, it could reduce its spending by 9% to 44%, to the detriment of security and maintenance policies of the company.
The only advantage for the company to let employees work with their own equipment: is to enhance control and security.
